Add a TV Guide to Your M3U Playlist
Learn how to add a separate guide link (EPG or XMLTV) to an M3U playlist in Vizi Player on iPhone and iPad.
Vizi Player plays the playlists you already have, and it comes with no content of its own. Some playlists include programme listings for their channels – often called an EPG or XMLTV guide – as a separate link. If your playlist doesn’t automatically show what’s on now and next, this page explains how to add that link to Vizi Player.
Adding a Guide When You First Add the Playlist
- On the Add Playlist screen, you’ll see options for adding an M3U playlist.
- Under “Or:”, find the section for M3U playlists.
- Tap the TV Guide Link (Optional) box. The app says it is "Only needed if your playlist came with a separate guide link." Most M3U playlists name their own guide, and Vizi finds it without you adding anything here.
- If you have a guide link, paste it into the box.
- Continue adding your playlist as usual.
Adding or Changing a Guide to an Existing Playlist
- From the Home screen, go to Settings.
- Tap Sign Into & Manage Your Playlists.
- Find and tap the playlist you want to edit.
- On the Edit Playlist screen, scroll down to the “TV guide” section.
- Tap the Guide link (optional) box.
- If you have a guide link, paste it into the box. Alternatively, if you need to remove an existing link, delete its contents.
- Tap Save changes. Vizi will display "Checking…" while it updates your playlist. The app says: “Your favourites, where you got to, and any collections built on this playlist are kept.”
What the Guide Does in Vizi Player
Without Vizi+, live channels show what is on now and next where the playlist supplies guide data. This means you’ll see the current programme and the upcoming one directly within the player.
With Vizi+, you get access to the full TV guide – a grid you can scroll through days at a time – and catch-up, but only where your playlist provides that information. Since version 1.0.1, M3U playlists can also have a guide. Remember, Vizi Player plays what is in your playlist; it doesn’t supply any channels or content itself.

People still sign in with the username and password for your server, and it’s for a server you run or are authorised to use: linkacode.com.
