Acceptable use
Last updated 5 October 2026.
Vizi is a player. It plays what you point it at, and it is your responsibility that you are entitled to watch it.
In short
Allowed: your own videos, music and recordings; a media server or network drive you run at home; streams that are free to air or openly published; and a service you are licensed to watch with a player of your choice.
Not allowed: anything you do not have the right to watch, getting round any lock or restriction, using someone else's sign-in, and passing on or selling what you play.
What Vizi is
A media player for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, and for Android phones, tablets and TVs. It contains no real content — only a small invented demo library, so you can see how it works. It ships with nothing pre-loaded. It has no directory, catalogue, search or recommendation of places to obtain media, and no means of discovering an address you do not already have.
We have no affiliation, agreement or relationship with anyone who supplies media, and we neither host, cache, index, transmit nor modify anything you watch. Media travels directly between your device and the server you chose.
Permitted use
You may use Vizi to play:
- media you own, or that you have created or recorded yourself;
- media on a server you operate, or that is operated on your behalf;
- streams that are free to air, public domain, openly licensed, or otherwise made publicly available by the rights holder;
- services you hold a valid licence or account for, where the terms of that service allow you to use a media player of your choosing.
Vizi is intended for personal and private use.
Prohibited use
You must not use Vizi, or a Vizi account, to:
- access, play, copy or record any material you do not have the right to;
- circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, any technological protection measure, geographical restriction, access control or authentication;
- use credentials that are not yours, or that you are not permitted to use;
- redistribute, re-stream, publish or make available to the public anything you play through it;
- resell access to any server, or use Vizi as part of a commercial service supplying media to others;
- break any law that applies to you, or the terms of any service you use.
In plain terms, that rules out, for example:
- a stream or playlist that passes on someone else's paid channels, films or events without the rights holder's permission, whoever you paid for it;
- a sign-in shared with you by someone who is not allowed to share it;
- using a VPN, proxy or anything else to watch something not offered where you are;
- pointing a screen in a pub, shop or other public place at Vizi to show media to customers;
- setting Vizi up on devices, with an address already added, to sell or give away.
How we enforce this
We hold no content, so there is nothing of anyone's for us to take down. What we do hold is accounts, and we will act on those.
Where we have reasonable grounds to believe an account is being used in breach of this policy, we may suspend or close it. Where someone breaches it repeatedly, we will close their account and decline to provide them another. We do not need a court order to do either — this is a condition of use.
We will cooperate with lawful requests from rights holders and authorities, within the hard limit of what we actually hold. We cannot tell anyone what a person has watched, because we do not keep it. See the privacy policy for exactly what does and does not exist here.
Reporting misuse
If you are a rights holder, or you believe Vizi is being used in breach of this policy, email abuse@viziplayer.com with enough detail to identify what you are reporting. We read every one.
Please note what we can and cannot do. We can close an account. We cannot remove media, block an address, or stop a server operating, because none of those things are ours — they belong to whoever runs the server, who has no relationship with us.
Common questions
Is it legal to use Vizi?
Yes. Vizi is a media player, like the one already on your computer. What decides whether something is lawful is what you play with it, which is why this policy exists.
If I paid for a stream or playlist, am I allowed to watch it?
Not necessarily. Paying someone does not give you a right they do not have. If they are not authorised by the people who own what is being shown, you are not allowed to watch it with Vizi, whatever you paid.
Does Vizi check what I play?
No, and it cannot: nothing about what you watch reaches us. That is why this policy puts the responsibility on you, and why the account is what we act on.
What happens if someone breaks these rules?
We can suspend or close their Vizi account, permanently if they do it again. See report misuse for how to tell us.
These rules form part of the terms of use.
